Cindy Shaffer
Cindy Shaffer, Founder and President of Shaffer Development LLC., specializes in assembling parcels and redeveloping complicated infill projects in Ozaukee County.
Shaffer Development began acquiring real estate in 2001, purchasing the first property with no money down and successfully renovating and converting several run down rental properties in the City of Cedarburg to condominiums.
Shaffer moved on to developing and remediating an abandon gas station into a 10,000 SF mixed use building, also in Cedarburg, which was sold prior to being built, and is now a successful mixed use project with a Starbucks, hair salon and office users.
Shaffer then acquired two of the five parcels that now comprise the Mequon Town Center, a revolutionary mixed-use development on three acres in the center of the City of Mequon. This is the first new mixed use development and the first new multi family development in over 20 years in Mequon. This project called for creating a new zoning code, public & private partnerships involving a city loan, shared parking as well as a 1.8 million dollar TIF. The project also required a creative land swap with an American Legion Post and a re-use of a gas station. This 18 million dollar project is currently under construction with 30,000 SF of Retail (95% leased) and 28 Luxury apartments.
Shaffer Development has recently been awarded an RFP for a four-acre site in the center of the Village of Grafton and is in preliminary design stages of a $17million mixed use development.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a degree in marketing and communications, Shaffer's experience includes working for S.C. Johnson and Sons, Marriott Corporation, The Mandel Group and Fiduciary Real Estate Development. Shaffer has taught Marketing at Milwaukee Area Technical College, and is on the board of the Mequon Thiensville Sunrise Rotary.
